Solar Air-conditioner
The Solar air-conditioner is a hybrid split cycle. It combines the regular technology of a split cycle air-con and uses a solar panel to super heat the refigerant gas. The regrigerant gas is normally heated by the compressor in an air-con, whereas the solar air-con super-heats the refrigerant gas in the solar panel. This reduces the amount of power consumed by the air-con and the hotter the panel gets, the less power is required by the air-con.
The EEGreen Air-con is covered by a 5 year warranty and looks very similar to conventional air-con, but for the solar panel.
The 5kW model should be able to run for a 24hr period for under $2 a day. This will perfectly suit a home office or residence that uses a lot of air-con throughout the day.
